Gorgeous - amazing needlework Abbi, what size is it? I have trouble threading a needle but have never done anything so fabulous even when I could see! More, more.................

It was approx. 400mmx 300mm, I think....I framed it and posted to Mum, who was very pleased with it.
I have done three of my own garden which I'll take pics of.

Beautiful work Abbi. was it done using a computer program to generate the colours from the photo or did you work it out by hand (and head)?
I bet your Mum is pleased with it :-)

I start by using a program that converts the photo pixels to coloured squares (ie stitches). Then i play with it, substituting colours until I'm happy with the whole thing. Then I print out the design to follow on blank canvas, like a counted crosstitch.
This particular one has many of the flowers overstitched with embroidery thread french knots to give an extra dimension.
Mum had no idea I was doing it, so it was a complete suprise....I asked her to hang it in a place where it could remind her every day of how much I love her.
