Thorn Birds

Was recently loaned the DVD "Thorn Birds"...I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book years ago & had forgotten much of the actual TV series....found it really good to rewatch something from years ago...felt I probably looked on the whole storyline a bit differently.....I guess that has something to do with age & knowledge that we gain over time...has anyone else found this when they have re-watched something years later..

When that was first released on TV, I hadn't long since read the book. I was a teenager at the time.. our local TV station didn't get the mini series:(

Lucky the book was written in 1977 (Colleen McGullough) & I think the mini series was early eighties..you can still buy the DVD series.

I enjoyed it too - the book was great - saw the series and enjoyed it then - seems a long time ago now.
The scenery was Californian fake I think - my only complaint - hard to fake the Australian outback. Good acting, good story well told.
