I have a lovely specimen of curry leaf tree. It has now several berries on it and I was wondering how long to wait till I can harvest them for seeds? I plucked 3 very black, soft berries and squeezed out the seed, but the seed was very very small. How big should it be? How long shall I wait? How else can I get more trees? Cuttings? Is that possible?

The seeds should fill the fruit, more or less, with one seed per fruit from memory. I haven't grown them from seed but I sent some to Blossom and I think she may have sown them. Not sure of the results. I see no reason why they wouldn't germinate. The plant suckers readily, at least mine does and the suckers can be grown, but of course there is usually a bit of root attached. I feel sure that it would grow readily from cuttings. For semi-hardwood cuttings, now is a good time. Autumn is when we do most of our cuttings at the nursery. If you find yourself short of seed, I have quite a bit so just holler.

Thanks, Ray. In that case, I squeezed the fruit too soon, as the seed was minuscule. Will wait a bit longer. But I may try to strike some cuttings now.

I did get seeds from you last year, or the year before, but I wasn't successful. So I shall try cuttings first. Thank you. Smile
