Always have zucchini in the garden but would like to try an heirloom. Franchi seeds have this one and others but wondered how it grew, whether it tasted as good as said to be. Is there a better one.

I'm contemplating that variety for the Spring. Grew Bianco di Trieste this year but the seeds are a bit hard to get.
Cooks firm so I expect RZ might do the same. Friend of mine grew Friuli - the bumpy thing - and he raved about them. Certainly the fruits were very large. (the power of cow manure) They cooked firm as well.

Grow Romanesco most years, a little more substance to the fruit when young, compared to smooth skin dark greens and blacks I've grown. Very yummy.

I like mine very young so sounds good - thanks Robbin. Grown the same way? - no particular problems with mildew or anything?

Fran, grow just the same. Don't think I could tell them apart as seedlings.

One of the few zukes that are still very tasty when they get a little large. Big plants though, so give them room.

Yes I don't like eating them past medium small if just to be baked. The rest go to the chooks or the neighbours who don't seem to mind what size they are. When I didn't have chooks a lot got thrown away - bit wasteful but they can explode to twice their size in a day in this climate.

So these take up space - I can probably put in 2 or 3 then - thanks for the info everyone Smile
