Why don't bulbs do as they are supposed to?
I planted this bulb garden in a fairly untended spot, with the intention of having a fabulous shoe of colour that they neighbours would enjoy. There are Daffs, Dutch Iris in three blues and yellow, hundreds of Ixias and massed Bluebells. But they will only flower in sequence not all together - first cabs off the rank are the daffs to cheer the drear.

The yellow daffs are usually first out here. Pink daffs might bloom later for you, to give a show with the DI's?
I find some Dutch iris to be shy and not bloom every year. Anyway it is nice to have successive bloom too, so there is always something there.
I do love Spring bulbs.
Cheers, Jan

jan, I put Dutch Iris in at Mville and haven't seen them since! Now tulips are another thing. As you know they love (need) the cold. Very reliable but not flowering yet.

I don't expect tulips until the first week in October when we have the Tulip Festival here in Wynyard, and we'll be away then. However, those that I planted in pots have decided to give me an early preview ( the pots will be going next door so they can enjoy them). Here is my tulip representative of what we will miss.
