weeding,weeding,weeding
well today I have been weeding and weeding ,this particular garden bed is very dry close to the house and also cops the wind from the east , so I will have to have a good think on what to plant there
have to admit it was so very nice working out in the warm sunshine today

Re: weeding,weeding,weeding
I'm chasing a flame weeder Lorraine - won't do all my weeding but will save my back a bit LOL
I find the mulch keeps everything out of the beds unless couch gets a toehold - no amount of mulch will keep that out. The rain has brought up a bit of grass on the banks here and that's where I plan to use this flame weeder - providing I can buy one up this way - haven't looked for one yet.

I flames my front garden in a very short time the other day - it works! I did it after heavy rain and you should have seen the plants boil!
Re: weeding,weeding,weeding
hi yes blossom I saw one of those flame weeders the other day ,in "bunnings " I think
we are lucky as we dont have couch or kikuyu at all thank goodness
now if I could manage to get in and around the plants ok that weeder would be good here too

You have to be carteful around plants you want to keep, because the flame will give off heat 'sideways' so it's best not to get too close to things you don't want to kill.

ok thanks,
wont be doing any weeding today , as my back is killing me right between my shoulder blades anyway its meant to rain later

Re: weeding,weeding,weeding
I find I do much of my thinking WHEN I am weeding. I find it very meditational, giving me time to destress and think clearly about things.
I do enjoy it for the most part, and it allows me to look at just a small part of my large garden and take notice of what the plants are doing and what they need. I have weeding help but I give my weeders parts of the garden that don't interest me so much, or around the edges.
