Re: Welcome Betty
Hi all!
Thanks for the welcomes Thee, and Dee. For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm a country lady living in the Wimmera region of Victoria and the "Beauty" Dee referred to is my pony mare, which has had a nasty abcess in the hoof. Today she walked fairly evenly out of her stable, Dee, though you can see she's treading carefully on it. Fingers crossed that she'll go on improving.
Wonder how long it will take me to figure out how this forum works?
Cheers
Betty

Re: Welcome Betty
Betty, the forum is fairly straightforward. I have it as a Lifestyle Forum although gardening seems to be the main focus, we are limited only by our imaginations! If, for example, you would like a Horse sub forum of the 4 legged friends forum then just let me know. Then you can discuss all things horse with compatible people.
I'm trying to keep it user friendly, but am happy to add more bells and whistles as needed ( an assuming that I have the tech skills to do so). If you have any queries sing out. The icons above are a bit different but once you've tried them they start to make sense. Haven't tried them all myself yet! If you hover over each icon, it will tell you what it is for and the very last one on the right with a ? on it, takes you to FAQ.
As membership increases so do the 'points' as this is a free forum housed in France. I can also purchase more points which I've done to avoid advertising on the site. Points credit is pretty good at present but I'm concentrating on getting particular forums up that interest people at present. The beauty of this forum is that it doesn't need a website, it can be transferred to an individual any time, so if I got sick or went away, a new person could take over the running without complications.
I am also not going down the 'moderation' track. I assume everyone who joins here is a courteous and caring person who has opinions and skills they are willing to share and doesn't need to be smacked, banned or otherwise patronised in any way. Shared space as we are all connected in the cosmos.

Glad to hear you aren't going down the moderator path actually, Blossom. It all sounds great to me . Once I get used to everything I might have a suggestion or two perhaps.
Is it okay to stay logged on all the time?
Thanks for the welcome, Jan, really nice to be here after the day I've had elsewhere . Ian had a Dr's appointment today and got me some stamps whilst in town so I'll send you that cheque tomorrow.
Must feed my lambs and other critters now.
Cheers
